Quality You Can Trust. Standards You Can Verify.
Every wire and cable manufactured at Gurkirpa Industries is produced under a rigorous quality management system and tested to Bureau of Indian Standards specifications before it leaves our plant.
Quality at Every Stage
Quality at Gurkirpa Industries is not an end-of-line check — it is built into every step of our manufacturing process. From raw material selection to finished goods dispatch, our team applies strict process controls, in-process inspections and final testing to ensure every product meets or exceeds the applicable Indian Standard.
Raw Material Control
Only approved grades of electrolytic copper and aluminium are accepted. Every incoming lot is inspected for chemical composition, dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
In-Process Inspection
Dimensional checks, conductor resistance measurements and insulation wall thickness verifications are carried out at each production stage — not just at the end of the line.
Final Testing
Every finished batch undergoes a full suite of routine tests as per the applicable IS standard before being approved for dispatch. No batch is released without a passing test record.
Traceability
Batch records link every finished reel back to its raw material lot, production run and test results — enabling full traceability from customer to source.
Manufactured to Indian Standards
Our products are manufactured and tested in accordance with the following Bureau of Indian Standards specifications.
PVC Insulated Cables for Working Voltages up to and including 1100 V
Covers PVC house wires, multistrand flexible wires and submersible cables for domestic and commercial applications.
PVC Insulated (Heavy Duty) Electric Cables
Covers heavy-duty PVC insulated and sheathed cables for power distribution and submersible pump applications.
Conductors for Insulated Electric Cables and Flexible Cords
Specifies conductor material, construction, dimensions and electrical properties for copper and aluminium conductors.
Routine Tests Performed on Every Batch
The following tests are performed on every production batch as part of our routine quality assurance protocol.
Measures the DC resistance of the conductor per unit length to verify it meets the maximum resistance limit specified in IS 8130.
Verifies the integrity of the PVC insulation by measuring resistance between conductor and earth under a specified DC voltage.
Each metre of insulated wire is passed through a high-voltage spark tester to detect pinholes, thin spots or voids in the insulation.
Conductor samples are tested for tensile strength and percentage elongation at break to confirm ductility and mechanical integrity.
A sample of finished wire is subjected to a flame for a specified duration. The insulation must self-extinguish within the time limit specified in IS 694.
Conductor diameter, insulation wall thickness and overall diameter are measured and verified against the dimensional requirements of the applicable standard.
Checks that the PVC insulation does not adhere excessively to the conductor, ensuring the wire can be stripped cleanly during installation.
Insulation samples are aged in an oven at elevated temperature and then tested for tensile strength and elongation to verify long-term thermal stability.
ISI Mark — Bureau of Indian Standards
Gurkirpa Industries holds BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification under Scheme II (ISI Mark) for its wire and cable products. The ISI Mark on our products is your assurance that they have been manufactured under a certified quality system and tested to the applicable Indian Standard.
CML (Compulsory Registration) licence numbers and BIS certificate details are available on request.
